The period covered extends from the Normandy Beaches, 6 June 1944 to 2 May 1945, the historic date when the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion met up with the Soviet Army, at Wismar, a German town on the Baltic. The ambition of this book is to offer basic documentation for military history enthusiasts who wish to acquire detailed information about the Canadian Army, not to forget the militaria collectors, model-makers and those taking part in historical reenactments; they will all find elements to satisfy their hobbies or interests in this book.
