Table of Contents

America managed to stay out of the Second World War for almost three years although her navy was battling the German submarine menace in the Atlantic, and sustaining casualties and committing her massive production to Allied Lend-Lease before the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The sneak at-tack on Hawaii on that fateful Sunday morning was perhaps the greatest rallying point around which America would gather in its 165 year history. The Remember Pearl Harbor theme was carried out throughout the war in every facet of propaganda until the Japanese finally surrendered in August 1945.
