Table of Contents

From its beginnings in the 1880s, opalescent glass has enjoyed a widely receptive audience, both in England where it was introduced and here in America where a young but growing market was ready for any touch of brightness and beauty for the hearth and home.

Glass authorities Bill Edwards and Mike Carwile, who have written books on carnival and pressed glass and Millersburg crystal, have once again teamed up to present an all-new fifth edition on the ever-popular opalesecnt glass. Glass production by both American and English glass companies from 1880 to 1930 is covered in this new edition.

With around 130 new patterns featured, this expanded volume now holds over 850 color photographs. Detailed information on several prominent glass manufacturers is again included, and the attached price guide has been enlarged to include nearly 6,400 pieces in six different colors. A new feature of the price guide is the addition of values for the "after 1930" section of the book, not priced in previous editions.

Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass, Fifth Edition, is sure to shine on your bookshelf!
