In this book, Dana Johnson, author of the fourth edition of Matchbox Toys, 1947 to 2004, moves away from the "basic series" of toys that are easily recognizable as Matchbox. Instead, he concentrates on the rest of the toy line that carried the Matchbox name. Some of those items are generally associated with the brand name, while others aren't.
