Table of Contents

Mt. Washington Art Glass provides a pictorial overview of America's premier Victorian art glass produced from the 1880s into the early 1900s in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This comprehensive collectors' encyclopedia delivers a historical perspective of the glass in addition to more than 800 exquisite photographs. Lava, Mt. Washington's earliest art glass, both decorated and undecorated Burmese, Peach Blow, Crown Milano, Royal Flemish, Colonial Ware, Rose Amber, Napoli, Verona, the tea set and vases sent to Queen Victoria at her request, and Cameo are included in this first reference of its kind. Included are sections showing biscuits, lamps, fruit bowls, salt & pepper and other condiment sets, sugar shakers, pitchers, vases, and toothpick holders. In addition, there is a chapter of outstanding Webb Burmese examples, which were produced in England following the granting of a license by Albert Steffin of the Mt. Washington Glass Company to Thomas A. Webb & Son. Author Betty Sisk, a collector for more than 30 years and long-time member of the Mt. Washington Art Glass Society, has provided collectors with this much-needed reference, and it rises above the rest.
