This author of this 272 page volume has compiled the names of over 10,000 railroads that were incorporated in North America. Included are alphabetical listings of railroad names, dates of incorporation, miles of track, when they went out of business, or were sold or merged. This is the new and expanded third edition, which includes a section on railroad slogans, a new section on railroad "monikers", plus the names of over 450 private railroads (lumber, logging, mining, & quarrying lines).
