Central Glass Company: The First Thirty Years, 1863-1893 by Marilyn Hallock
If you are unfamiliar with Central Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia (as I must confess I was) this may be a "must have" book for your collection.
Central Glass began in 1863. Their production includes Flint Glass, Early American Pattern Glass, both in pressed, clear and in color, a great many oil lamps, serving pieces, more. These are shown in great detail, including excellent color close of photos of the Oil Lamps, which I think is one of the key features of the book. Examples of their patterns across all product lines are shown, including tumblers, salts, pitchers, more.
Pattern numbers and names are also given.
One of the most comprehensive books in the collecting field. Heavily illustrated with color images, historical documents, and catalog pages, it will satisfy both the collector and the glass historian. Each pattern is illustrated, most with beautiful color photos, and all are carefully described. It offers the first chronological overview of the company's growth. An easy identification guide compiles every known pattern.
The price guide consists of a brief summary on page 40 of this book.
