Hundreds of Steins are shown in full color, each with their own separate photograph. The accompanying description includes the military corps name, (Armeekorps, Gardekorps, etc.) the unit designation (battalion, division, etc.), the city the unit originated from (Berlin, Dresden, Altona, etc.) a description of the scene depicted, a description of the thumb lift for the lidded stein, description of the lid finial, height, and date of production.

The book also comes with a separate 30 inch, fold out color map of Deutschland, detailed by city name & region, dated 1899. (reprinted)
