On March 30, 1945, just days after his 22nd birthday, Joseph De Cusati of New Haven, CT was killed in action while on a bombing mission over Germany. He was the only member of his ten man crew to be killed, and was the last man in his squadron to die in World War Two. Initially buried in the American Military Cemetery in Cambridge, England, his body was returned to the United States after the war and laid to rest in New Haven. Over the years, Joe's name and his story slipped into oblivion.

The author of the book, Joe's cousin, records his discovery of Joe's existence, extensive research into Joe's history, his military service and his death while serving as a radio operator on a B-24 nicknamed "Linda Lou".

A well written, informative and touching narrative of the life of just one of the young men who sacrificed all in the service of his country during WWII.

Numerous b&w photos.
